York Peppermint Patties are decadent chocolate coins filled with a smooth, peppermint crème. When you bite into a Peppermint Pattie, your senses are immediately engulfed in a delicious blend of chocolate and mint unlike any other candy on the market. York Peppermint Patties were first introduced in York, Penn. in 1940. They were originally produced by the York Cone Company and were for sale in the Northeastern U.S. as well as Ohio, Indiana and Florida. In 1972, the Peter Paul Company took over the York Cone Company and three years later they began selling Peppermint Patties nationally. Shortly after Peppermint Patties went national, the Peter Paul Company merged with Cadbury Schweppes. In 1988, the Hershey Foods Corporation took over Cadbury Schweppes and the York Peppermint Pattie.
